ESA MODIS Fire_cci Burned Area data: Grid product ----------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------- MODIS Fire_cci Burned Area (BA) products v5.1 (also called FireCCI51 for short) were obtained by combining spectral information from MODIS MOD09GQ Collection 6 (https://ladsweb.modaps.eosdis.nasa.gov/api/v1/productPage/product=MOD09GQ) and thermal information from MODIS MOD14ML Collection 6 active fires product (https://earthdata.nasa.gov/what-is-new-collection-6-modis-active-fire-data). Fire_cci BA products v5.1 are available for the years 2001 to 2022 at two different resolutions: pixel (0.0022457331 degrees, approx. 250m at the Equator) and grid (0.25 degrees). Details of the Grid product --------------------------- The files in these directories include Burned area information with 23 individual layers: Sum of burned area, Standard error, Fraction of Burnable Area, Fraction of observed area, Number of patches, and Sum of burned area in 18 vegetation classes as defined by the Land Cover CCI v.2.0.7 land cover product. A global coverage of 0.25 x 0.25 degrees grid resolution is stored in a single file for each monthly period. These files are grouped by year. The grid product is stored in geographical coordinates. Each cell has a latitude and longitude assignment which is tied to centre of the grid cell. File format ----------- The product format is NetCDF-CF.
